DIY Christmas Candles 2023: A Festive Guide from SOSA Candles

DIY Christmas Candles 2023: A Festive Guide from SOSA Candles

Hey there, candle enthusiasts! It's Sonal here, the merry founder of SOSA Candles, and I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you a jolly journey into the world of DIY Christmas candles. If you're anything like me, the scent of cinnamon, pine, and all things nice sends you straight into the holiday spirit. So, grab a hot cocoa, light up your favorite SOSA candle (mine's the Winter Wonderland, just saying!), and let's dive into a festive guide that's sure to brighten your holidays!

Every candle has a story, and SOSA's began with a flicker of inspiration one Christmas. Picture this: a cozy living room, twinkling lights, and a less-than-fragrant candle sputtering away. That's when I thought, "Why not create candles that truly capture the essence of Christmas?" And voilà, SOSA Candles was born!

A Day in Our Winter Workshop

At SOSA, every day feels like Christmas, especially during the festive season. Our workshop is a winter wonderland of wax, wicks, and whiffs of magic. We start our day with the scent of fresh pine and a team huddle, where we share our 'scent-sational' ideas. It's like Santa's workshop, but with more candles and less elves!

What Makes SOSA Candles Ho-Ho-So Special?

We believe in candles that not only smell good but do good. Our unique selling points? Eco-friendly waxes, wicks that burn cleaner than Rudolph's nose, and fragrances that bring the Christmas spirit right into your living room. Plus, we're big on community – each candle sold brings a little more light to someone's life.

Crafting Your Own Christmas Candle

Choosing the Right Ingredients

1. Waxes: We love soy wax for its clean burn and eco-friendliness. Beeswax is another great choice, especially for that subtle, sweet scent.

2. Wicks: Cotton or wooden wicks work wonders. Remember, the right wick size is crucial for an even burn.

3. Fragrances: Think cinnamon, cranberry, or pine. The more festive, the better!

 The Making Magic

1. Melting the Wax: Gently melt your wax. Remember, patience is key – no rushing this step!

2. Adding Fragrance: Once melted, stir in your chosen fragrance oils. My go-to Christmas blend? Cinnamon, orange, and a hint of clove!

3. Wick Placement: Secure your wick in the center of your chosen container. A little glue or a wick sticker helps.

4. Pouring the Wax: Slow and steady wins the race. Pour your wax into the container, leaving a little room at the top.

5. Curing Time: The hardest part – waiting! Let your candle cure for at least 24 hours.

 Candle Care and Safety Tips

1. First Burn: Let it burn until the wax pool reaches the edges.
2. Trim the Wick: Keep it to about 1/4 inch.
3. Safe Spot: Away from drafts, kids, and pets.
